Australia, 13 November 2019 – High demand for 2020 wedding dates has seen Australian brides rushing to book well in advance, with some brides offering to pay more in order to secure their preferred date.

2020, with its repeating numbers, has captured the attention of brides seeking to create a memorable wedding and anniversary date. Gabbinbar Homestead, one of Queensland’s most popular wedding venues, has taken more bookings for 2020 than any previous year thanks to the popularity of the 20-20 combination.

“We have definitely experienced more couples seeking dates in 2020 that have numbers that match or compliment the 2020 repeitition. Couples are drawn to these dates because of how they look,” said Cheryse Bliesner, Operations Manager of Gabbinbar Homestead.

“February has proven extremely popular, as well as dates with the same pattern of repeating numbers such as the 4th of April and the 8th of August. These dates have been booked by couples well over 18 months ago.

“Overall 2020 is going to be a very popular year to be married,” said Ms Bliesner.

Couples now spend thousands of dollars on invitations, wedding websites and signage for their wedding. With the date featuring prominently on these items, it has become a consideration.

Tayla Lange, who will be married on the 4th of April 2020, was one of the lucky ones to secure her preferred date.

“I really liked the sound and look of 2020. My partner and I got engaged in 2018 but I held off having our wedding until 2020 because I liked it better as a date,” she said.

“I’ve always liked numbers and April is an amazing time of year to get married, so I had my heart set on securing the 4th,” said Miss Lange.

“If you are after a certain date, we always recommend booking early to avoid disappointment,” said Ms Bliesner.

“We still have some great dates available and if you’re looking for certain numbers and patterns, we can definitely help.”
