Townville’s state-of-the-art Mobile Police Beat, dubbed a ‘police station on wheels’ will be deployed throughout the week at a number of locations across Townsville.

The Mobile Police Beat provides a high visibility policing presence which can be strategically deployed at short notice where needed, respond to changes in crime, emerging trends and community concerns.

Tuesday, February 27

  • 8am – 11am: Victoria Bridge, Ogden Street, Townsville
  • 9am – 10.30am: Neptune Road & Kitty Hawk Crescent, Kirwan
  • 11am – 12.30pm: Cranbrook Park, Bergin Road, Cranbrook
  • 12pm – 1.30pm: Vincent Village, Fulham Road. Vincent

Wednesday, February 28

  • 8am – 10am: Garbutt Shopping Centre, Ingham Road, Garbutt
  • 11am – 12.30pm: Dean Park, South Townsville
  • 3pm – 6pm: Victoria Bridge, Ogden Street, Townsville
  • 4.30pm – 6.30pm: Charles Moroney Park, Clint Street, Kelso

Thursday, February 29

  • 7.30am – 10.30am: Flinders Square, Flinders Street, Townsville City
  • 8.30am – 10am: Riverway Library Complex, Riverway Stadium, Thuringowa Central
  • 11.30am – 1pm: The Strand Waterpark, The Strand, North Ward
  • 4.30pm – 6pm: Heatley Park, Fulham Road, Heatley
  • 6.30pm – 8pm: Willows Shopping Centre, Thuringowa Central

Friday, March 1

  • 8am – 9am: Little Reid Park, First & Flowers Street, Railway Estate
  • 3pm – 6pm: Victoria Bridge, Ogden Street, Townsville

Saturday, March 2

  • 8am – 9.30am: Shoalmarra Drive, Mount Low
  • 10am – 11.30am: Bushland Beach Shopping Centre, Mount Low Parkway & Lionel Turner Drive, Bushland Beach

Sunday, March 3

  • 6.30am – 10am: Cotters Markets, Flinders Street, Townsville City

Community members can request a Mobile Police Beat to be deployed to a preferred location as needed, providing greater access and support from policing resources as well as a high-visibility presence in hotspots.

Officers attached to the Mobile Police Beat can also discuss local crime issues, providing crime prevention and general advice to local residents and business owners.
