Bruce Munro: Tropical Light Volunteers Sought to Help Territorians with Cancer

Two hundred Territorians have theopportunity to volunteer for Darwins world-class exhibition Bruce Munro:Tropical Light and raise funds for Territory families dealing withcancer.

The world-firstBruce Munro: Tropical Light exhibition will feature eight illuminatedsculptures across the Darwin CBD and Waterfront, transforming Darwinstraditionally quieter period from November to April into a not-to-be-missedtropical wonderland and providing significant flow-on benefits for localbusiness.

Volunteers are being sought asexhibition hosts, artwork minders and visitor engagement promoters as well asraising funds for CanTeen, ensuring visitors receive an authentic warmTerritory welcome.

Volunteers must commit four hours eachweek for 27 weeks throughout the exhibition, which runs from November 2019 toApril 2020 and is expected to bring an extra 50 000 visitors to Darwin.

Territory businesses and individuals cansponsor a Tropical Light volunteer and every shift worked will earn a $100donation for CanTeen, with the potential donation of $2,400 per volunteer and atotal $480,000 across the program.

Funds raised will continue to supportservices for Territory and South Australian families living with cancer.

A public briefing for interestedbusinesses and individuals will be held on Tuesday 27 August at 12pm in theSmith Street Mall, near Activate Darwin.

An auction will be held to registervolunteers and secure the first donors, and businesses who commit the highestnumber of volunteers can secure naming rights for the program.
