Budget adopted 2022/23

Mitchell Shire Council has endorsed a $162 million budget for 2022/23.

The budget was adopted at the May Council meeting based on community input through the development of the Council Plan, Mitchell 2050 Community Vision and other strategies and plans.

The budget will help deliver more than 100 services across the community and meet our Council Plan commitments.

The budget also includes $75.2 million for capital works, with more than $17 million of projects already underway.

The 2022/23 operating and capital works programs will help improve the liveability and connection of our towns, rural areas, and growth suburbs to meet the needs and expectations of our rapidly growing population.

For the first time, we’ve also released a four-year pipeline of projects.

We will do all this within the 1.75 per cent rate cap set by the State Government.

We’ve prepared a summary of some of the main parts of the budget here. You can also find out more in our budget summary document, the full budget document or through the capital works pipeline.
