Build Your Reading, Writing And Numeracy Skills

Would you like to build your reading, writing and numeracy skills in a welcoming and supportive environment? Read Write Now offers a friendly group setting where everyone is encouraged to learn at their own pace.

Whether you’d like to feel more confident reading, complete forms with ease, support your child’s learning, or start using digital tools, this program is

designed to support everyday skills that make a real difference.

Read Write Now is a funded Learn Local program, so it is free to attend.

You can expect

• Practical reading and writing activities for daily life

• Simple and engaging ways to build numeracy skills

• Support from an experienced and approachable teacher

• A relaxed, inclusive environment where everyone is welcome

• Opportunities to build confidence and celebrate your progress

Learning alongside others helps create a sense of connection and shared encouragement. You’ll meet people with similar goals, support one another, and build confidence together.

It doesn’t matter how long it’s been since you last studied, everyone is welcome, and support is provided every step of the way.

Read Write Now is on Wednesdays from 5.00pm – 7.00pm during school terms at the Mountain District Learning Centre.

If you know someone who could benefit, feel free to bring them along to try a session. All classes are free.

The Centre can also support small groups who are interested in learning together.

Neighbourhood Houses welcome people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities and play a vital role in supporting Council’s work to improve the health and wellbeing of the Knox community.

Knox City Council supports Mountain District Learning Centre through funding provided through the Minor Grants, Community Development Fund, and Community Partnerships Fund grants streams.

Council is invested in supporting the five Neighbourhood Houses in Knox as they deliver social, economic and health benefits to the Knox community and these outcomes support us to deliver on our Council and Health and Wellbeing Plan. They also increase the community’s access to local services through their ‘No Wrong Door Policy’, assisting people to find the information/service/support they need.
