From today, Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) bulk billing incentives eligibility has expanded to all Medicare-eligible patients. Previously only patients under 16 and Commonwealth concession card holders were eligible.
In addition, general practices across Australia can register for the Bulk Billing Practice Incentive Program (BBPIP).
Practices participating in BBPIP will receive an additional quarterly 12.5% incentive payment on MBS benefits paid from eligible services, split evenly between the GP and the practice.
To participate in BBPIP, practices must:
- Bulk bill all MBS eligible services
- Be MyMedicare registered
