Banyule Crime Investigation Unit detectives are hoping to identify a man after charity donations worth $500 were stolen from a supermarket in Ivanhoe last month.
Police have been told a man drove to the store on Upper Heidelberg Road and entered a car park in a year 2005 or 2006 silver Mazda 2 about 4am on Wednesday 20 April.
It is believed the offender forced entry to the supermarket via a door and once inside stole a children’s hospital money spinner and a guide dog donation dog.
He carried the items back to his car and fled the scene.
The offender is described as Caucasian in appearance with a slim build and possibly aged in his 20s or 30s.
He was wearing a black hooded jumper and black track suit pants.
Investigators have released an image of a man and a vehicle that may be able to assist with their enquiries.
