Burglary charges at Gold Coast

Two people have been charged following the burglary of a Pacific Pines residence yesterday.

Around 2pm yesterday, the pair allegedly forced entry to the house on Victoria Drive and stole several items, including a computer and tools. They also allegedly stole a BMW XI and left the residence.

Police were conducting routine patrols around midnight when they noticed the stolen vehicle being driven along Creek Street at Ormeau.

Officers attempted to intercept the vehicle, however the 40-year-old male driver allegedly failed to stop.

A tyre deflation device was successfully deployed, and the car stopped in a yard on Beausang Place a short time later where they were taken into custody.

A 40-year-old Coomera man has been charged with one count each of burglary, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, evasion and receiving tainted property.

A 29-year-old woman was also charged with one count each of burglary and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

They are both due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court today.
