Burglary with violence in Benowa, QLD

Detectives are investigating a violent burglary incident on the Gold Coast early this morning.

Around 4am, two men wearing balaclavas and one armed with a firearm entered the rear yard of a Fullerton Street address.

The men then forced entry to the residence where they confronted the male and female occupants inside.

The 44-year-old male occupant ran from the residence to a nearby service station to alert police.

The men then pushed the 39-year-old female occupant to ground before fleeing the area on foot.

A crime scene was declared with detectives and forensic officers in attendance.

Investigations are continuing.
