Burglary with violence in Woodridge, QLD

Detectives have charged a teenage boy following investigations into a burglary in Woodridge yesterday afternoon.

It will be alleged around 2.30pm a number of youths forced their way into a Schodel Street residence.

The group allegedly threatened the two occupants, a 45-year-old woman and 59-year-old man, demanding money from the pair.

It will be further alleged one of the group was armed with a baseball bat and damaged property inside the house.

As the group attempted to flee the residence the man tackled one of them to the ground, restraining the teenager until officers arrived.

The boy was arrested and taken to Logan Hospital for treatment to a minor injury sustained during the scuffle.

A 15-year-old boy has been charged with burglary and common assault.

The man and woman were not injured during the incident.

Investigations are continuing to locate the rest of the group involved.
