Celebrating its 28th anniversary, the internationally acclaimed dance phenomenon returns home after captivating more than four million people across more than 30 countries, bringing together breathtaking choreography, extraordinary talent and the trademark energy that has made it one of Australia’s greatest theatrical success stories.
Produced by Burn The Floor founder Harley Medcalf, Luminous sees internationally acclaimed Artistic Director and Choreographer Jason Gilkison return to lead the production. Best known as Creative Director of the BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing, Gilkison’s work across Broadway, the West End and Las Vegas has helped establish Burn The Floor as one of the world’s most celebrated live dance productions.
Bringing the production to life is an exceptional cast from seven countries, including Dancing with the Stars Australia favourites Jorja Freeman and Gustavo Viglio, the real-life couple who have become one of ballroom dance’s most recognised partnerships. Two-time Dancing with the Stars champion Jorja also joins the creative team helping shape the production.
Joining them are So You Think You Can Dance Australia winner Talia Fowler, reigning Dancing with the Stars France champion Anaïs Reira, The Voice Australia performer and longtime Dancing with the Stars vocalist Carlos Velazquez, and rising Australian dance sensation Rome Champion, recently crowned Australia’s Red Bull Dance Your Style National Champion, who has performed alongside global music stars Billie Eilish and Sampa The Great.

Inspired by a performance featuring world champion ballroom dancers at Elton John’s 50th birthday celebration, Burn The Floor launched in 1999 and transformed ballroom and Latin dance into a global entertainment phenomenon. Over the past 28 years it has earned acclaim on Broadway, London’s West End and stages across the world, selling more than four million tickets while continually reinventing what audiences expect from live dance entertainment.
