Bushfires NT Message: Emergency – Location: Livingstone

LOCATION: Livingstone Road, LIVINGSTONE

ALERT LEVEL: Emergency Warning – An Emergency Warning is the highest level of Bushfires Alert. You may be in danger and need to take action immediately. Any delay now puts your life at risk.

FIRE TYPE: Bushfire. INFORMATION CURRENT AS AT: 23/08/2026 17:10:00

STATUS: GOING – A fire which is spreading on one or more fronts. Effective containment strategies are not in place for the entire perimeter.

RISKS FACED BY PEOPLE IN THE AREA: Smoke from this fire may affect visibility, Active fire may occur close to the roadside , Firefighting crews may be working close to the roadside , The risk of loss of life or threat to properties is almost certain or has occurred , Bushfires NT is primarily undertaking defensive strategies to protect lives and property.

WHAT TO DO: If unsafe to stay, leave immediately. If unsafe to leave, shelter indoors immediately. Conditions will change, continue to monitor conditions.

ADVICE TO THE PUBLIC: A large scrub fire in the Livingstone has turned southward with a change in the wind direction.

Bushfires NT is directing all available resources to protect properties and infrastructure which are now at risk on Kentish Road between Blyth and Hopewell roads.

If it is unsafe to stay, leave immediately.

Residents on Kentish Road west of the old pipleline should travel to the west. Residents on the east side should move towards Stuart Highway. Otherwise, seek shelter now.

Avoid the area and any unnecessary travel.

Motorists in the rural area are urged to give way to emergency vehicles.
