Business and industry leaders invited to help drive Darwin’s economic growth

Darwin City Council

City of Darwin is seeking Expressions of Interest from business, tourism and industry leaders to join its new Tourism, Business and International Relations Advisory Committee.

The committee has been established following City of Darwin’s review of its advisory committee framework and brings together expertise from tourism, business, economic development and international relations to support Darwin’s growth, investment attraction and global connections.

Lord Mayor Peter Styles said the committee would strengthen collaboration between City of Darwin, industry and key stakeholders while helping inform strategic opportunities for the city.

“Darwin is well positioned for growth and we want to bring together leaders from business, tourism and international engagement sectors to help identify opportunities that benefit our economy and community,” Mr Styles said.

“The Tourism, Business and International Relations Advisory Committee will play an important role in strengthening partnerships and ensuring City of Darwin continues to receive informed advice on matters that contribute to Darwin’s prosperity.

“Through our refreshed advisory committee framework, City of Darwin is creating stronger opportunities for stakeholders to contribute their expertise and help shape the future of our city,” he said.

The committee will support City of Darwin by providing advice and insights on business and economic development opportunities, tourism initiatives, international engagement activities and strategic partnerships that contribute to Darwin’s future economic growth.

City of Darwin welcomes applications from business representatives or representatives of key industry and organisation stakeholders in the following sectors: tourism, business, trade, international relations, military and civilian history.

Expressions of Interest close at 5pm on Monday 2 November 2026.
