Broken Hill City Council will host the first of its business information nights later this month to provide business and industry with the opportunity to collaborate and embrace a number of opportunities that will put Broken Hill on the map as a must see destination.
City Growth Coordinator Anne Andrews said the first meeting will focus on the opportunities that will present as a result of the Mundi Mundi Bash being held at Silverton in August.
“With several thousand visitors in the City during this time, Council is providing business owners an opportunity to get together and collaborate on how best to cater for such a large influx of tourists,” said Ms Andrews.
“This is such a great opportunity to work together on providing visitors with a memorable experience so they will promote our region to their friends and families. If we do this well, this will have ongoing benefits for years to come.”
The event will be held at the Civic Centre on Friday 24 May from 5.30pm to 7pm and will be attended by Mundi Mundi Bash Managing Director Greg Donovan, representatives from Council’s community, economic development and visitor information services, and Foundation Broken Hill.
“This is a very important topic but it’s also a casual event – a business conversation about how we can best activate Argent Street and the CBD,” Ms. Andrews said.
Council will also provide support for operators to access materials from the It’s Out There campaign to assist them to promote their business in the lead up to the event.
“The ‘It’s Out There’ campaign has been a highly successful destination marketing campaign in collaboration with Destination NSW, Broken Hill City Council and Central Darling Shire Council,” said Ms Andrews.
“This is an opportunity to extend that campaign at the grass roots level.”
