- Applications now open for Busselton Water’s 2024 Community Partnership Program
- $50,000 grant program supports local grassroots projects
Applications to Busselton Water’s Community Partnership Program are now open, with $50,000 in funding available for local community groups.
Busselton Water’s 2024 Community Partnership Program offers grants to boost or kick-start local initiatives and is open to volunteer groups, not-for-profit community organisations, social enterprises, clubs, and schools within the Busselton Water service area.
Groups with particular interest in projects focused on water use efficiency and quality, environmental sustainability, educational opportunities, community based-activities, innovation, and leadership are encouraged to apply.
In 2023, eight local groups received funding including:
- Be My Koorda Aboriginal Corporation – for sponsorship to support the ‘October Cultural Outing’;
- Capecare – to undertake the sustainable garden and waterwise project;
- Geo Bay Wildlife Rescue Inc. – for the purchase of a monocular thermal camera enabling wildlife monitoring and rescue; and
- Geographe Bay Yacht Club – to support purchase of equipment for the Learn to Sail Program.
The program is administered by Busselton Water. Successful projects must be implemented between May 2024 and April 2025.

As stated by Water Minister Simone McGurk:
“Over the past seven years, this program has supported over 30 local groups, and invested nearly $100,000 worth of support at the grassroots level – where it’s needed most.
“The grants on offer will support the people involved in the groups, but also the wider community to build a brighter future.
“This year, Busselton Water has increased funding from $15,000 to $50,000 to provide more opportunities to more community groups.
“This is a valuable resource for the community, and a great initiative of Busselton Water – I strongly encourage all local organisations to consider applying.”
