BYO Device Day at Cowra Service Centre

Services Australia’s Cowra Service Centre is hosting a Bring Your Own Device day (BYOD) next week to teach the community how to do their government business online.

“This will be a fun day in our local service centre,” Cowra Service Centre, Digital Advisor Lesley Burns said.

People are encouraged to bring their mobile phone, tablet or laptop to the service centre on Wednesday 18 March. Services Australia staff will help people set up their myGov accounts, link member services and navigate the Centrelink and Medicare apps.

“myGov provides a secure way to access multiple government services online,” Lesley said.

“We’re looking forward to assisting people register for online self-service and to support them while they become more confident navigating myGov and our mobile apps.”

People can do a range of government business online, including claiming and managing payments, updating details, reporting employment income and managing money.

Cowra locals may think they don’t have the right skills to do their business online, however with a little coaching from Services Australia staff, they will be tech savvy in no time.

The BYOD day will be held at Services Australia, 93 – 95 Brisbane Street Cowra from 9am – 3pm on March 18.
