Adelaide Hills Council is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced members of the public to sit on the Council Assessment Panel (CAP). The CAP is an important committee of Council with responsibility for assessing a wide range of Development Applications including new houses, land divisions, major commercial developments and changes in land uses.  It has a very significant role as an assessment authority assessing development proposals against the Planning and Design Code.

The CAP consists of four independent members and one Councillor, pursuant to the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act 2016. The CAP meets monthly – usually 6:30pm on the second Wednesday of every month in Stirling.

The Council is seeking four independent members (including an independent presiding member) with knowledge of the Adelaide Hills Council area, a keen interest in planning, qualifications in urban and regional planning or similar, and accreditation as an Accredited Professional – Planning Level 2, pursuant to the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act 2016.

The Presiding Member will also need to have significant experience in chairing meetings and a working knowledge of the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act 2016 and Planning, Development and Infrastructure (General) Regulations 2017.

Council pays sitting fees for the independent members of CAP. Ordinary independent members will be paid a sitting fee of $380 (excl. GST) per meeting while the Presiding Member will be paid $500 (excl. GST) per meeting. These fees are reviewed bi-annually.
