Call for information – Stolen motor vehicles – Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police are calling for information after multiple vehicles were stolen across Alice Springs overnight.

Around 11:20pm, police received reports a stolen golf buggy, allegedly being driven by two youths, was seen driving erratically around Sadadeen. The buggy was located abandoned and efforts are underway to locate the owner.

A short time later, a Toyota Troop Carrier, stolen from Sadadeen, was reported driving dangerously in the Alice Springs CBD. The vehicle allegedly performed burn outs on the council lawns before fleeing the scene.

At 1:50am, police received reports of a burglary on Cromwell Drive, Desert Springs. Vehicle keys were stolen from the residence and a Nissan X-Trail and Toyota Hilux were stolen.

The Toyota Hilux was recovered abandoned a short time ago.

Both the X-Trail from Desert Springs and the Toyota Troop Carrier from Sadadeen remain outstanding and Strike Force Viper have carriage of investigations.

Detective Senior Sergeant Michael Budge said ” Investigators would like to thank the witnesses who have already come forward and would urge anyone with information, particularly if you know the location of any abandoned vehicles, to make contact on 131 444. Please quote reference 24053751.”

Police continue to urge the public to immediately contact police if you witness crime or anti-social behaviour on 131 444 or in an emergency to call Triple Zero.
