Call out for local young singers to compete in the Battle of the Voice

Young local singers are invited to take part in the first Battle of the Voice competition which will be held on stage on Easter Sunday April 21 as part of the many fun activities lined up for the Bendigo TAFE Bendigo Easter Festival.

The competition is open to singers of any style or range aged between 12 to 21 years. Selected contestants will perform on stage in the beautiful surroundings of Rosalind Park on the Sunday.

City of Greater Bendigo Tourism and Major Events Manager Terry Karamaloudis said the competition was aimed at local talented singers who were just starting out.

“We want to give local singers the chance to showcase their raw talent in front of a large audience so that they can learn from the experience and improve their skills singing live,” Mr Karamaloudis said.

“To perform during the City’s biggest annual event will be a memorable occasion for all of the performers and their families.

“I encourage all young talented singers with any style or range to apply. We welcome solo or duo acts.

“It’s important that applicants read the entry form requirements because they need to supply a two-minute video.

“Selected finalists will perform on stage in the Battle of the Voice and they’ll be in the running to win gift vouchers.

“The contestants will be judged on vocal ability, stage presence and overall talent and entertainment.”

The Battle of the Voice winner will receive a $300 Bat City Music voucher while the runners-up will win $150 and $50 Bat City Music vouchers respectively.

All entrants must complete the online form www.bendigoeasterfestival.org.au
