Calling all creative local kids

Griffith City Council is calling on budding artists to get creative for the Imagine Griffith Art Competition.

Council’s Director Economic and Organisational Development, Shireen Donaldson said Council is inviting local primary school students to visually depict their vision for Griffith’s future.

“We want them to use their imaginations and think about Griffith in the future,” said Ms Donaldson.

“This art competition is just one of the engagement exercises we are running in the review of our Community Strategic Plan – Guiding Griffith 2040.

“An important part of the process is involving our younger residents to find out from them what they would like to see in the future.”

The Imagine Griffith Art Competition is open to all primary school students in the Griffith Local Government Area.

“Artworks will be used in an exhibition later in the year at Griffith Regional Theatre’s ArtSpace,” said Ms Donaldson.

“We are really excited to see what our younger residents come up with. I’d urge them to be as creative as they like and don’t forget to title your work of art to help explain what is important to you for Griffith in the future.”

The competition was launched at Council’s annual School Leaders Event on Tuesday, 30 March 2021 and closes on Monday, 31 May 2021.
