Council is calling for open tenders for the Old Post Office site in the city to secure its development.
The 4,160 square metre site, which is located on the corner of Grafton and Hartley streets, was purchased by Council in May 2010.
The former Post Office building was demolished by Council last year and the site is now level and vacant.
Council has recently sought expressions of interest (EOI) for the site for operation as a carpark (May 2019) and more recently as a development site (August 2019).
The EOI process confirmed market interest in the acquisition and development of the site.
Council endorsed a four-week open tender process with a report on the outcome expected in July.
