Capacity increase for NSW Remembrance Day services

An exemption will apply for NSW Remembrance Day services which will allow gatherings of up to 100 people in a COVID Safe way.

The one-off exemption will apply for services at NSW community war memorials. All services must:

The exception will be in place for services held before Thursday 12 November 2020.

Remembrance Day is an important event for the wider community to pause and pay respect to those who fought for Australia.

Acting Minister for Veterans Geoff Lee said the lift of restrictions is welcoming news to the NSW veteran community.

“While some of our larger commemorations won’t look the same as in past years, this exemption means smaller services can be held in all local communities across NSW,” Mr Lee said.
