Registrations are now open for Capacity Investment Scheme (CIS) Tender 11, with bids opening on 27 August.
Through Tender 11, we’re seeking around 1.8 GW of renewable energy generation in Western Australia’s Wholesale Electricity Market (WEM).
Projects supported through the tender are expected to be operating by 2030. They will help meet growing demand for electricity and support a reliable power supply.
Tender 11 includes a 180 MW First Nations Equity and Revenue Sharing Set Aside. It is for projects that commit to 5% or higher First Nations equity participation, or a similar revenue-sharing arrangement.
Like previous CIS tenders in WA, successful projects must take part in the state’s Reserve Capacity Mechanism. This helps keep the power system reliable as more renewable energy enters the grid.
Tender 11 is also the first CIS tender to use the Developer Rating Scheme.
The scheme is run independently by Equifax. It looks at areas such as community engagement, capability and financial capacity. To bid in Tender 11, developers must have started the assessment process.
Tender 11 builds on recent CIS investment in WA. Earlier tenders announced this year supported 1.9 GW of renewable energy generation and 482 MW of storage across 10 projects.
Tender 11 will likely be the final CIS tender in the WEM, provided generation and dispatchable capacity targets are met.
To register, visit the CIS Tender 11 page on the ASL website. Bids close at 5 pm AWST on 22 October 2026, with successful bids expected to be announced in March 2027.
