Capture Fairfield Winners Announced

Capture Fairfield Visual Arts & Photography 2021 Winners

The winning entries of the 2021 Fairfield City Council Capture Fairfield Visual Arts & Photography Competition were announced at the October Council Meeting earlier this week.

Judges made their selection based on the skill, strong visual appeal, and response to this year’s ‘Love where you live’ theme.

Fairfield City Mayor Frank Carbone said the competition presented photographers and artists with the opportunity to capture a transformative time in Fairfield City’s history.

“The standard of works was among some of the best we have ever seen in this competition, and I would like to thank everyone who took the time to enter. As I look through each submission, I feel great pride for our City and the connection and resilience of its people during a global pandemic,” Mayor Carbone said.

“COVID-19 is having an ongoing impact on our community. Both this year and last year has shown us that in times of hardship, our community remains strong and retains its sense of identity and spirit.

“It’s pleasing to see that the State’s lockdown did not deter residents from entering the competition, with 392 submissions received across the visual arts and photography categories.

“Thank you to everyone who entered the competition and congratulations to our winners. We have enjoyed exploring Fairfield City through your eyes and look forward to next year’s submissions.”
