Carinity To Celebrate Good Mental Health In Boonah

In the hit television comedy Frasier, the title character ended his psychiatry radio show by wishing his listeners “good mental health”.

The sentiment will be the same when Carinity Fassifern Community Centre hosts its annual Fassifern Mental Health & Wellness Expo in Boonah on 9 October.

Fassifern Mental Health & Wellness Expo in Boonah will bring together local health service practitionersVisitors to the expo, which coincides with Queensland Mental Health Week, will be able to enjoy interactive workshops and discover local and outreach allied health services.

The event will feature everything from hand massages and self-care experts to multiple stalls for NDIS, mental health, and family support and counselling services.

Guests can re-fuel with morning refreshments and a barbeque lunch, then grab a self-care bag filled with goodies. There will also be new children’s activities and cultural elements to enjoy.

Rhys Wilson from Carinity Fassifern Community Centre says the expo aims to enhance social connection and inform the community about important services available within the Scenic Rim region and adjoining areas.

Fassifern Mental Health & Wellness Expo in Boonah will bring together local health service practitioners“Factors of living in regional areas, such as prolonged drought, unemployment and social isolation, can contribute to poor mental health and wellbeing for residents,” Rhys said.

“The purpose of this expo is to help shine a light on mental health and de-stigmatise mental illness, particularly for rural and regional areas, and bring about positive change in our community.”

Previous Fassifern Mental Health & Wellness Expos have attracted several hundred people, including some guests from as far away as the Sunshine Coast.

The 2026 expo will be held at Carinity Fassifern Community Centre, at 4 Little High Street in Boonah, on 9 October.
