Carrick fatality update

Police are continuing to investigate a triple fatality which occurred on the Bass Highway at Carrick earlier this morning.

Police can confirm a 63 year old Launceston man and a 65 year old Launceston man travelling in a Mazda BT50 and a 33 year old Selbourne man driving a Toyota Prado died in the crash.

Our thoughts are with the families and loved ones of those involved in the crash.

Initial investigations indicate speed is not considered to be a factor in the crash, and drug and alcohol test results are pending. Police can confirm the driver of the Prado was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. The two children were properly restrained.
