Help grow a greener City of Casey when the annual Casey Plant Giveaway returns to three local shopping centres next month!
Casey ratepayers can claim two FREE, native plants when Council presents the program for the 16th year running.
Between Thursday 9 May and Sunday 12 May, Council will have pop up stalls at the Endeavour Hills Shopping Centre, Westfield Fountain Gate and Cranbourne Park Shopping Centre where residents can collect their plants.
Council will also have a stand at Bunjil Place on Sunday 12 May (Mother’s Day), which will coincide with the Vera Moller exhibition A Thousands Tides, which explores the fauna, flora and terrain of the coast of Western Port Bay.
By collecting your plants you can gain a sense of community and contribute to creating a better natural environment for all by participating in the revegetation program.
The initiative will help kick off World Parks Week, and contributes to Council’s Growing a Green Web program, which aims to involve the community in the rehabilitation of indigenous vegetation across the municipality.
Council asks ratepayers to present a proof of residence when collecting plants. Specific locations for each stand at the shopping centres will be made available closer to the date.
