Casey’s young people celebrated for making a positive impact

Last week, the City of Casey celebrated the achievements of 16 inspiring young people at the 2026 Youth Recognition Awards, acknowledging their positive contributions to the community and the difference they are making in the lives of others.

Held on Wednesday 7 October at Bunjil Place, the awards recognised 14 individuals and two groups aged between 12 and 25 who are helping to shape a stronger, more connected and more inclusive Casey through their actions, leadership and commitment to others.

Mayor Cr Michelle Crowther said the evening highlighted the incredible contribution young people make to the Casey community every day.

“Every young person recognised at this event, has shown what is possible when passion, kindness and commitment are put into action,” she said.

“Among those recognised were young volunteers supporting people experiencing homelessness, dedicated CFA members serving their communities during emergencies, passionate environmental advocates driving climate action initiatives, talented performers using their skills to raise money for important causes, and young leaders creating opportunities for others to feel connected and included.

“Their contributions are making a real difference to the lives of others and helping build a stronger community for everyone. Council is proud to celebrate these young people and ensure they know their efforts are valued, appreciated and making an impact.”

In 2027, Council plans to continue to recognise the achievements of our young residents every second month through the Youth Spotlight initiative, fostering a culture of recognition, connection and community pride while celebrating the positive impact young people make across Casey throughout the year.

We congratulate all recipients and thank the families, carers, teachers, coaches, youth workers, mentors and community members who continue to support and encourage young people to reach their potential.
