Cash and Drug Seizure at Gold Coast

Detectives have seized drugs and a large sum of cash following the execution of a search warrant on the Gold Coast today.

During the search of a Currumbin Waters residence, officers from the Gold Coast Major and Organised Crime Squad located and seized Cocaine, MDMA, Steroids, Alprazolam, a cash counting machine, heat sealing equipment, phones, counterfeit currency and approximately $72,000 in cash.

A 34-year-old Currumbin Waters man has been charged with trafficking in dangerous drugs, four counts of possessing a dangerous drug, producing dangerous drugs, possession of property suspected of being used in the commission of a crime, possession of utensils and possession of property suspected of being the proceeds of crime.

He is due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on December 3.

South East Region MOCS Detective Senior Sergeant Ian Galpin said the charges reflect police’s ongoing commitment to disrupting criminal activity in the area.

“The QPS is committed to working with the community to enhance community safety, we are constantly looking for opportunities to disrupt criminal behaviour and dismantle criminal syndicates at the earliest opportunity,” Detective Senior Sergeant Ian Galpin said.
