The Territory Labor Government continues to create more opportunities to get the Territory working.

Castile Resources’ Rover 1 Project, which is expected to generate a capital expenditure of nearly $280 million, has been awarded Major Project Status by the Northern Territory Government.

The Rover 1 Project will directly target gold doré, 99% cobalt, 99% copper, and 96.4% magnetite in an underground mine 80kms south west of Tennant Creek.

An opportunity for 160 Territorians to work on the project will be created throughout construction in addition to 120 positions during operation.

Alongside the mine, a beneficiation plant and processing facility will also be developed providing additional stable long term employment throughout the Barkly region.

The $280M million Rover 1 project presents an exciting opportunity for economic growth in the Barkly, and Major Project Status is a formal acknowledgement of the project’s significance through its contribution to the economy and employment.
