Officers from the Critical Incident Response team have arrested a man after a burglary on Collins Street, Melbourne this morning.
Police were alerted to a man smashing the door of a designer store with a sledgehammer about 2.30am.
It’s alleged the man gained entry and stole jewellery before leaving the store.
Critical Incident Response Members were quickly on the scene and arrested the man in the middle of Collins Street.
A 36-year-old man from Melbourne has been taken into custody and is currently assisting police with their enquires.
