CCTV appeal after reported sexual touching, NSW

Police have released images of a vehicle and are appealing for information as investigations continue into the reported sex touching of a teenage girl in the Tuggerah Lakes area at the weekend.

Police have been told it was shortly after 3am on Saturday (1 January 2022), a 15-year-old girl was walking along Scenic Drive, Budgewoi, when a vehicle stopped near her.

The male driver offered her a lift, which she accepted.

Police have been told the man drove a few minutes before stopping the car and sexually touching the girl. She called for help and a group of youths passing by intervened and the man drove away.

Officers from Tuggerah Lakes Police District were notified and commenced an investigation.

As inquiries continue, police have released CCTV images of a silver sedan in the hope the driver can assist their investigation.

The driver is described as being of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance with a shaved head, beard and wearing a black shirt.
