CCTV helping police piece together murder of Shane Bowden

Gold Coast and Homicide detectives investigating the murder of Shane Bowden have today released CCTV vision of two vehicles they believe were used as getaway cars after the shooting.

Police investigations have revealed a blue/silver coloured Holden Commodore and a maroon coloured Ford Falcon were purchased by associates of the offenders a week before the murder.

These vehicles were located on fire a short time after the murder.

The CCTV footage released today shows these vehicles being driven in convoy from the Ipswich area towards Brisbane the day after they were purchased.

The footage of the maroon coloured Falcon appears to show the driver wearing gloves indicating an attempt to hide their identity.

Detectives are appealing for anyone who may have seen the vehicles in October 2020 or knows the identity of the drivers to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or Police Link on 131 444.

On Thursday, the Queensland Government issued a reward of $250 000 for information that leads to the conviction of the person, or persons, found to be responsible for Shane Bowden’s murder and an indemnity from prosecution will be recommended for any accomplice, not being the person who actually committed the crime, who first gives such information.
