CCTV images released after man injured in carjacking – Berala

Police have released CCTV images as they appeal for information into an alleged carjacking in Sydney’s west.

About 3pm on Thursday 21 September 2023, a 28-year-old man stopped his silver Toyota Corolla on Norman Street, Berala, when three unknown men exited two vehicles nearby and approached him.

The three men allegedly assaulted the man before fleeing in his Toyota Corolla and two vehicles parked nearby.

Officers attached to Auburn Police Area Command were notified and commenced an investigation into the incident.

As inquiries continue into the incident, investigators have released descriptions and CCTV images of the three vehicles seen in the area at the time of the incident.

One of the men exited from a dark grey Mitsubishi Triton dual cab utility and is described as being of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance, about 30-years-old, with a short beard, and was wearing a dark shirt, dark shorts, and a dark blue Nike hat.

The two other men exited a white Toyota Hiace van and are both described as being of Pacific Islander/ Maori appearance, of large build, about 30-years-old, wearing baseball caps, with one of them wearing a singlet.

The third vehicle is described as a dark grey Audi hatchback, believed to be Q5.
