Police are appealing for information following an alleged robbery in Sydney’s south west.
Just before 11.45am on Friday 12 June 2026, emergency services were called to Ware Street, Fairfield, following reports a 77-year-old woman had allegedly been assaulted by a man before he took her bag – containing a sum of cash – and left the scene.
On arrival, police were told the woman had withdrawn the cash from an ATM immediately before the incident.
She was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for head and leg injuries, before she was taken to Liverpool Hospital in a stable condition.
Officers attached to Fairfield City Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the incident.
As inquiries continue, investigators have released CCTV images of a man who they believe may be able to assist with inquiries.
The man is described as being of Asian appearance with medium build, dyed blonde hair, wearing large reading glasses, a dark hoodie, shorts and bright yellow socks.
