CCTV images released after robbery in Lakemba

Police are appealing for information and have released CCTV images following a robbery in Sydney’s Inner West earlier this year.

Just after 6pm on Monday 7 September 2020, a 66-year-old man was walking on Croydon Street near The Boulevarde at Lakemba, when an unknown man approached him from behind and tripped him over.

He stole his bag containing cash, cigarettes and other personal belongings, before running away on Croydon Street.

The man fell to the ground but was not seriously injured during the incident.

Officers from Campsie Police Area Command attended and commenced an investigation.

As part of ongoing inquiries, detectives have released CCTV images of a man who may be able to assist them.

He is described as being of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance, aged in his 20s, between 175 and 180cm tall, of medium build, unshaven, and with short black hair. He is depicted wearing a black t-shirt, beige shorts and a black face mask pulled down below his nose.
