Detectives have released CCTV footage as an investigation continued into a violent home invasion in the state’s Illawarra region earlier this year.
About 3.40am on Sunday 22 February 2026, emergency services were called to a home on Mummunga Close, Flinders, following reports of a home invasion.
Officers attached to Lake Illawarra Police District attended and were told four unknown males wearing balaclavas, one armed with a knife, forced entry into the home’s converted garage and assaulted a 20-year-old man.
Three other occupants – two men aged 19 and 43, and a 37-year-old woman – attempted to assist, however; the residents were further assaulted by the group, before they ran away from the scene.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the 43-year-old man for stab wounds to the head and chest, the 20-year-old man for a stab wound to the leg and stomach, and the 19-year-old man for significant facial injuries.
They were all taken to hospital in a serious condition and have since been discharged.
A crime scene was established and Strike Force Culver was formed to commence an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Following extensive inquiries, detectives have released CCTV footage of a group of people they believe may be able assist with further inquiries.
They are all described as being of thin build, wearing white/grey hooded jumper and gloves.
Three of them were wearing white/grey pants and the fourth man was seen wearing black pants.
Anyone with information about this male or the group and has information about this incident or CCTV or dashcam footage of the area on the morning of Sunday 22 February 2026 to contact Lake Illawarra Police.
Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au. Information is managed on a confidential basis. The public is reminded not to report information via NSW Police social media pages.
