Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District staff were honoured in a week-long celebration to recognise and reward the spectacular achievements, innovations and milestones of its health care teams at the inaugural Together awards.

Clinicians, nurses, midwives, and technical, administrative and professional support teams were amongst staff acknowledged across the week for exceptional customer service and patient care, outstanding individual and team performances, collaboration and excellent leadership and management.

Dedicated ceremonies were held which spanned all areas of the Local Health District with accolades going to more than 100 staff nominated by their peers and management.

Kaysan Penning, a member of the Lithgow Primary Care and Community Health team, took out the prestigious award for Aboriginal Employee of the Year.

Commitment to caring was also acknowledged with Years of Service awards handed to many staff who have spent much of their career working in Health. Incredibly, over 300 employees were recognised for this achievement, many receiving 10, 20, 30 and 40 years of service acknowledgements.

James Ong, a member of Nepean Hospital’s Pharmacy team, received special recognition for achieving a remarkable 50 years of dedicated care to his local community.

Speaking directly to staff at the award events NBMLHD Chief Executive, Lee Gregory said it was evident the District was filled with amazing people who are committed to the health and wellbeing of our patients and the community.

“Thank you for continuing to deliver on our commitment to care in ways that benefit our patients, carers, community, and our staff, no matter your role,” said Lee.
