Congratulations to the award winners and nominees of the 2019 Tasmanian Theatre Awards, whose creativity and talent was celebrated at their gala event in Hobart tonight.
It was a pleasure to be involved in presenting these awards, which recognised more than 40 outstanding individuals and organisations from across the State.
Organised by the Tasmanian Theatre Council, these annual awards celebrate excellence and achievement in the categories of professional theatre, community theatre, and community musical theatre.
The Hodgman Liberal Government recognises the valuable contribution the performing arts make to our State’s thriving cultural and creative industries, which is why we have committed $400,000 over two years to support the sector through the new Tasmanian Theatre Fund, which builds upon our existing investment in theatre.
