CEO appointed to Goldfields-Esperance Development Commission

  • ​Kris Starcevich appointed as Chief Executive Officer of the Goldfields-Esperance Development Commission (GEDC)
  • Regional Development Minister Alannah MacTiernan has welcomed the appointment of Kris Starcevich as Chief Executive Officer of the Goldfields-Esperance Development Commission.

    Mr Starcevich has acted in the role since May 2018, helping to drive the McGowan Government’s economic development and jobs agenda in the Goldfields-Esperance region. 

    A local to the region, Mr Starcevich has previously worked in the mining sector and has been employed at the GEDC since 2014. 

    He has been appointed for a five-year term. 

    The GEDC is overseeing job-creating State Government initiatives in the Goldfields and Esperance areas, including the Kalgoorlie City Centre upgrades, Norseman Visitor Centre project, Goldfields-Esperance Arts and Culture Trail, Goldfields Aboriginal Business Leadership program, Regional Economic Development grants and local content programs.

    As stated by Regional Development Minister Alannah MacTiernan:

    “Kris is a real regional leader, bringing enthusiasm, deep local knowledge and a passion for development to the Goldfields and Esperance. 

    “He has been important in delivering the State Government’s agenda to drive jobs and diversification across regional WA on the ground in the Goldfields-Esperance area. 

    “Under his leadership the Goldfields-Esperance Development Commission has become an innovative and dynamic agency, supporting local level development and growth – and we look forward to the Commission’s continued success with Kris at the helm. 

    “The Goldfields and Esperance are major economic hubs for our State, and our Government is committed to driving the best outcomes for the local communities.”
