Certificate of Pool Barrier Compliance deadline extended

With summer approaching and the warmer weather that comes with it, City of Stonnington residents are notified of an extension to the Certificate of Pool Barrier Compliance deadline to 1 June 2022.

The important safety regulations are in place for domestic swimming pools and spas.

These laws were introduced by the Victorian State Government in December 2019 to bring Victoria in line with the safety requirements of other states across Australia.

Originally slated for a 1 November 2021 lodgement deadline, Minister for Planning Richard Wynne has extended the deadline in recognition of the impact of the recent Victorian lockdown.

The Certificate of Pool Barrier Compliance is due on 1 June 2022. This applies to swimming pools constructed on or before 30 June 1994.

Owners must also have a registered building surveyor or inspector certify the continuing compliance of their safety barrier every four years.
