CGFNS Appoints Credential Evaluation Thought Leader to Head Up Knowledge Management

CGFNS International

PHILADELPHIA, PA / ACCESSWIRE / October 2, 2023 / With a focus on leveraging its information resources to bolster its credentialing services and support health workforce development, CGFNS International announced it has appointed Emily Tse as senior director of its newly created Center for Knowledge Management.

In her new position, Tse will oversee the organization’s extensive global education and health regulatory databases, along with other knowledge assets. The Center’s work, under her stewardship, will increase and heighten understanding of the healthcare professions – their requirements, needs, and challenges – and advance their mobility and growth.

Highly regarded for her expertise and thought leadership in the credential evaluation field, Tse has more than 20 years’ experience in international education. She is frequently invited to present at education and credential assessment conferences across the country and around the world and has contributed to numerous journals and industry publications.

“As we move toward expanding and enhancing our programs and services that support the career journeys of nurses and other health professionals, we are developing ways to strengthen credentials evaluation and verification and to use our knowledge and data to drive analytics, insights, and discovery. Emily Tse is an innovative thinker in this area. We are fortunate to have her join us to lead this important work,” said Peter Preziosi, President and CEO of CGFNS.

Prior to joining CGFNS, Tse served as Director of Evaluations at the International Education Research Foundation (IERF), where she managed the organization’s Country Index series on educational systems around the world. She has also worked on several fronts with the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO), serving on its International Education Standards Council (IESC), the oversight committee for AACRAO’s Electronic Database for Global Education (EDGE), which is a resource for evaluating educational credentials earned outside the U.S. She has also contributed to AACRAO’s 2021 Guide to Bogus Institutions and Documents.

She received a Pioneer Research Grant for her comparative study on credentials evaluation in four countries, as well as NAFSA’s Award for Outstanding Contribution to International Enrollment Management (IEM).

“Easing access to knowledge and fostering the sharing of expertise, innovation and problem solving are at the heart of addressing the global shortage of health professionals, which continues to worsen,” said Tse. “I am grateful for the opportunity to lead CGFNS’s efforts to harness data and other information in ways that will enhance global health workforce development and, with that, improve healthcare delivery worldwide.”

Tse will be appearing in a panel discussion titled Won’t Be Fooled Again: Dealing with Unaccredited Schools, Diploma Mills and Fraudulent Qualifications from Multi-Country Perspectives on October 4 at the 2023 Conference of The Association for International Credential Evaluation Professionals (TAICEP) in Redondo Beach, California. #TAICEPConference2023
