Please be advised of changed traffic conditions on Gocup Road and the Snowy Mountains Highway at Tumut in September 2022 till mid October 2022, as an intersection upgrade is carried out.
Oversize vehicles detour
A detour is now in place for oversize vehicles greater than 4m wide. The detour is via Capper Street and Merivale Street.
- Oversize vehicles approaching the intersection from Gocup Road or the Snowy Mountains Highway (Adelong side) must contact traffic control on UHF Channel 14 and will be directed to the Capper Street detour.
- Vehicles greater than 4m wide coming from Wee Jasper Road and the Snowy Mountains Highway (Tumut side) must contact traffic control on UHF Channel 14 and will be directed to the Merivale Street detour.
The detour will be in place till mid October, weather permitting.
During this time, single lane closures on all four approaches to the intersection and reduced speed limits will be place.
