Changes to Australia Day on Hawkesbury 2022

In the interest of public health and safety, changes have been made to the planned Australia Day on the Hawkesbury event on Wednesday, 26 January.

Australia Day on the Hawkesbury 2022 will be held at Governor Phillip Park, Windsor from 7pm to 9pm.

Residents are invited to bring their friends and family and enjoy a relaxing picnic by the shores of the Hawkesbury River. There will be some light entertainment, and a small selection of food trucks. Visitors can bring their own picnic dinner or buy their food on the night.

The evening will end with the ever-popular fireworks display.

The carnival rides and activities, and the emergency services display, will not be held.

Council’s Australia Day Awards Ceremony and Citizenship Ceremony will still take place but will be moved to an online format.

Australia Day on the Hawkesbury has been assisted by the Australian Government through the National Australia Day Council by receiving a $22,000 grant to support the event.
