Chapmans Point Death

Esperance Police will prepare a report for the Coroner after the death of a 29-year-old man yesterday, Sunday 11 September 2022, at Chapmans Point, West Beach, near Esperance.

About 1:10pm police received an emergency call in relation to a man who had been washed off the rocks at Chapmans Point. Information was received the man could not swim and that people who were with him at the time had lost sight of him.

Esperance Police and St John WA deployed to the scene, along with Esperance Surf Life Saving Club, Department of Transport and Port of Esperance vessels.

The man’s body was recovered from the water and it was confirmed he was deceased.

The 29-year-old Pakistan National had recently arrived in Western Australia from New South Wales, on a trip with a group of friends.
