The Northern Territory Police Force has arrested a 15-year-old male in relation to an aggravated robbery that occurred in June in Alice Springs.
On Friday 5 June 2026, it is alleged a woman aged in her 80s was threatened by a male youth armed with an edged weapon, before he stole her handbag and fled the scene. The victim was uninjured.
Following forensic investigations, the offender was identified and arrested yesterday by Strike Force Viper members.
He was charged with Aggravated Robbery and remanded in custody to appear in court today.
Detective Senior Sergeant Glenn Bolger said, “This arrest demonstrates the value of forensic investigations and highlights that offenders can still be identified and brought before the courts regardless of how much time has passed.
“Police urge anyone who is a victim of crime to make a report via 131 444. Every report provides police with the opportunity to conduct a comprehensive investigation.
“In an emergency, always call Triple Zero.”
