Charges laid following multiple home invasions – Burwood

Police have charged two men following multiple break and enter offences in Sydney’s inner west.

About 3.40am today (Tuesday 5 December 2023), police were called to a home on Fairlight Street, Five Dock, following reports two people were attempting to break into the home.

Officers attached to Burwood Police Area Command arrived and were told two men had allegedly attempted to climb through a window of the home before fleeing the scene.

Following inquiries, police arrested two men nearby.

They were taken to Burwood Police Station, where a 29-year-old man was charged with three counts of face blackened/disguised with intent to commit an indictable offence, aggravated break and enter, and be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner.

A 20-year-old man was charged with two counts of face blackened/disguised with intent to commit an indictable offence, aggravated break and enter, be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner and custody of a knife in a public place.

Police will allege in court the two men attempted to break into a home in Wareemba before they attempted to break into the Five Dock home.

Both men were refused bail to appear before Burwood Local Court tomorrow (Wednesday 6 December 2023).
