Charges laid following two-vehicle crash – Campbelltown

A man has been charged over his alleged role in a two-vehicle crash in Sydney’s south-west at the weekend.

About 1.55pm on Saturday (23 September 2023), emergency services were called to the Hume Motorway, near the Campbelltown Road overpass at Campbelltown, following reports of a crash.

Police will allege in court that an Audi hatchback left the scene after colliding with a motorcycle.

The rider, a 50-year-old man, was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before he was taken to Liverpool Hospital in a stable condition.

While police were at the crash scene, the driver of the Audi returned and spoke to officers. The 55-year-old man returned a negative breath test.

Officers from Campbelltown City Police Area Command commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Following extensive inquiries, today (Wednesday 27 September 2023), investigators issued the 55-year-old man with a court attendance notice for the offences of drive recklessly/furiously or speed/manner dangerous, and cause bodily harm by misconduct, in charge of a motor vehicle.

He is due to face Campbelltown Local Court on Tuesday 21 November 2023.

The man’s licence was also suspended.
