Charges, unlawful use of motor vehicle at Gold Coast

Police have charged two teenagers after an alleged stolen vehicle was tracked on the Gold Coast early this morning (November 12)

It will be alleged the vehicle, a Black BMW, was stolen from a Hollywell address overnight before allegedly re-fuelling at an Oxley Drive, Coombabah petrol station and failing to pay.

The stolen vehicle was spotted by police in Runaway Bay where it allegedly failed to stop for police.

A tyre deflation device was successfully deployed at Hope Island around 1.25am with the vehicle stopping in nearby Tamborine Oxenford Road around 1.30am.

Three teenagers, two girls and one boy, were immediately taken into custody.

A 16-year-old Strathpine boy has been denied police bail and charged with one count each of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, evade police, unlicensed driving, enter dwelling and commit indictable offence and fraud.

A 13-year-old Sandgate girl has been charged with one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and enter dwelling and commit indictable offence.

Both are due appear before Southport Children’s Court.

The third teen, a 15-year-old Brisbane girl, has been released without charge.
