Camden Council is calling on residents to remind the men they love of the importance of their health, as the world celebrates International Men’s Health Week.

Men’s Health Week, which runs from Monday 14 to Sunday 20 June, is designed to provoke thought and discussion about what needs to be done to improve male health.

Mayor of Camden, Cr Theresa Fedeli, said it was important to remind local men of the opportunities they have to keep their health front of mind.

“Raising awareness for men’s health is high on the agenda for Council and celebrating International Men’s Day is a timely reminder for us all,” Cr Fedeli said.

“Men can sometimes shy away from talking about their feelings or even not visit a doctor when needed. We are here to let everyone know that there is no shame in getting the help you need.

“This year, Camden became the first area in NSW to join the Bins4Blokes men’s health campaign, installing sanitary disposal bins in all male public toilet facilities.

“We also have two waste trucks emblazoned with men’s health messaging to serve as a reminder to men to seek help when they need it.

“The health and wellbeing of the community is of paramount importance to Council and I implore everyone in our community to check in with the important men in their lives, this International Men’s Health Week.”
